Vladimir, the fuck are you killing eighty thousand Chechens? End the goddamn war, it’s stupid.
It’s not going to make any difference to the underlying conflicts, you know that right?
They’re your people! You do realise you’re going mad?
You need a touch of humanity. Of random strangers and random acts of kindness. Not the people you see day-to-day who work only for you or rely on you for their survival. There’s nothing there that would nourish the bond that holds people together. It’s transactional in your case specifically.
If you weren’t you in your position, I would have told you to walk into a judo club and start coaching some random youth or go on a hike and make a polite chitchat with fellow hikers or help them pitch their tents if you see them struggling.
You can still do those things, can’t you? I can clearly see that you do enjoy chatting with your citizens at a staged conference, of where they came from and of their life stories. So why don’t you do that more instead of playing a stupid war game that you’re not really winning?
Nobody’s going to think of you any less for forfeiting the war. No one actually cares, you know that right? Except the people dying in it every day.
End the damn thing. It’s gone on long enough.
